San Francisco Women on the Web Calls for Top 25 Nominations
Fourth Annual Top 25 Women on the Web Awards Set for Spring 2001
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 3, 2001) Do you know a woman who has inspired people throughout the world with efforts to advance technology and contribute to the online community? If so, San Francisco Women on the Web (SF WoW), a non profit organization for women in the Internet, high tech and new media industries, http://www.sfwow.org would like to hear about it. SF WoW today officially put out a call for nominations for the fourth Annual Top 25 Women on the Web Awards. The winners will be announced at SF WoW's gala event in the spring of 2001.
The Top25 Women on the Web awards recognize the achievements of 25 women around the globe who have most inspired people worldwide with their efforts to set an example for successful business women in the Internet and new media industries. Year 2000 winners include Carol Bartz, CEO, Autodesk; Ellen Hancock, President & CEO of Exodus Communications, Carly Fiorina, CEO and President, Hewlett Packard and Web-based activist Anita Brown, the founder of Black Geeks Online.
Nominations are being accepted online at www.top25.org until January 15th, 2001. Last year over 200 women were nominated. Volunteers from SF WoW research all the nominees and then a selection committee decides and announces the final Top25 list prior to the event. The selection committee for the Top25 Women on the Web awards is made up of a panel of five high-profile individuals within the high-tech industry. Last years judges included former Top 25 winners and technology journalists.
